Please be informed that under the Tourism Tax Act 2017 (Act 791), enacted pursuant to the Laws of Malaysia on 19 June 2017, a Tourism Tax (TTx) was imposed on tourists staying at registered accommodation premises in Malaysia.

In accordance with Part III of the Act, all applicable guests are required to pay the Tourism Tax directly to the hotel operator. The implementation of this tax took effect on 1 September 2017, as gazetted under P.U. (B) 398 – Appointment of Date of Coming into Operation.

The Tourism Tax is charged at a fixed rate of Ringgit Malaysia Ten (RM10.00) per room per night, as stipulated under P.U. (A) 241 – Tourism Tax (Rate of Tax) Order 2017.

Please note that exemptions apply to:

Malaysian citizens; and
Permanent Residents of Malaysia,
as provided under P.U. (A) 240 – Tourism Tax (Exemption) Order 2017.

In accordance with the requirements of the Service Tax Act 2018 and as announced by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, the service tax rate has been revised from 6% to 8%, effective 1 March 2024.

This revised rate applies to all taxable services.

Exempted Services
The 8% service tax rate does not apply to the following categories:

• Food and beverage services
• Telecommunication services
• Provision of parking space services
• Logistics services

All applicable charges on our website and billing will reflect this revision in compliance with regulatory requirements.
